UV sterilizer flow rate question

Hi I recently installed a resun 55w UV on my 400g (1500l) tank and I'm using eheim compact 2000 to supply it....... Should I run the pump at full flow or minimum flow? I want maximum sterilization , not just algae control...... Thanks in advance

Your UV filter should have the suggested flow rate on the documentation or on the packaging. But I think that is for algae control only. You can do a web search on reputed UV manufacturers sites since they have suggested flow rates for different level of sterilization.

Ok thanks, it says its rated at 1585gph (6000 lph) for algae control, I'm hoping it will also b able to sterilize at slow flow as its the only decent size one at the time ...... It uses a 55w uvc globe but if it can't do the job il definitely upgrade /-- I'm still a newbie wen it comes to UVs but love the idea of parasite control ....
