Hey guys, I think its time for me to invest in a UV sterilizer for the 180G monsters. Housing 20 fish and now a turtle, Im finding my tank to be cloudy and tiny spurts of algae. Any suggestions for a 180 Gallon tank? Thank you everyone in advance.

I have 36 watt jbl uv sterilizer. 3 moths now and i haven't made pluming done and never used it. 
This week i will make combo with eheim 2262.
I will post some pics.
My grandfather used this brand uv and it's very good. With eheim canister.
I take care of his aquarium because he is 72 years old.

Depends on a few things. Cost, available space, what sort of pump you will be plumbing it in to and whether you want clarification or sterilisation. On the cost front it seems that good uv's aren't cheap and cheap uvs aren't good. And if you want high level sterilisation then you need lower flow rates, however if you are limited to using the current pump you have on the tank and let's say its a fairly high output pump then you won't be able to get low flow rates, unless you tee off a separate line for the steriliser, or get a large output steriliser. For cost effective sterilisation I'd go with a good brand pond UV. Something in the 50+ watt range. You can pick one up for around £100. The TMC 110w is a beast of a UV unit. And only cost £180.

You can always make T pluming. 1 hose to tank and 1 to uv. Then litle close walve to uv. that's it. Full flow to tank and low flow to uv.
You must change uv bulb every 1 year.

I just picked up a TMC Vecton v2 600 for my 125g recently. It's rated up to 180gallons. You could set them up tandem behind each other and get guaranteed sterilization. The units are huge though... about 22" total length so make sure you have the cabinet space to install them.
Yea its insane how big high watt uv sterelizers are.
my 36w is litle more than 22'' .
I have concrete stand for aquarium. All my filtration is on left and right side of tank on flor. Uv is maunted on wall.

I have same setup on a 240 gallon- crystal clear water. The slower output of the xp3 is ideal to kill bad bugs/parasites.
