I'm getting ready to purchase a coralife turbo twist 36Watt UV sterilizer for my 180 gallon tank. My tank has a wet/dry filter. I am wondering the best way to plumb this into my setup.

I was thinking of getting a low flow submerable and having it pull water from my sump through the UV filter and then either pump right back into the sump or possibly into the tank. My only concern is if the water is pulled from the sump and then pumped right back into the sump would it be pulling in enough "unsterilized" water or would it just be recirculating basically the same water?

Any opinions on the best setup would be appreciated.

thanks
JK

I would pump the water back into the tank instead of going back into the sump.

Because if you pump the water back into the sump, 1. you need another pump to pump the water from sump to the tank, 2. This second pump will pull mix water of both unsterlilzed and sterlilzed water back into the tank.
