Just bought a Aqua-Medic Helix Max 18 watt UV going to try to connect to XP-3 exhaust any suggestions? :)

If you can't run it separately, 'T' off the return to split and lower the flow rate without backing up the filter. You can put a valve or other restriction in the Uv input if the flow is stil too high.

, HELLO,
IF YOU CAN I WOULD PUT YOUR UV ON ITS OWN PIPING , IF YOUR UV IS RATED FOR 200 GAL. PER HOUR GET A PUMP THAT WILL PUMP 200 GAL PER. OR EVEN SET UP ANOTHER FILTER

Sorry to Hijack but I will be running a 36W Turbo Twist on my FX5..The tank is a 150 tall and it currently has 2 FX5's. Even with significant flow lose I should be ok correct?

It should be fine. The flow rate for aqua-medic 18w is between 200-400 gph, and an XP3 is 350 gph.

Right now I have a 36W hooked up to 500 gph pump, although the flow rate should be between 700-1000 gph. I am going to hook up another 36W to a XP4 (450 gph) for my other tank next week.

I think the point is not to exceed the flow rate of the UV spec. requirement. If the water go through the sterilizer oo fast, the micro-organisms in it won't be killed.

Your setup should be fine as well. A 36w turbo twist's flow requirement is between 400-1200 gph. A FX5 is within that range.

Thanx for the info. I should be alright, as far as flow I also have 2- Emp. 400's running on this tank (135g). My XP-3 is filled with potscrubbers.
