Hello everyone, im going to be setting up a 75 gallon native tank soon, and theres a sweet deal on a canister filter on craigslist, but it has a UV sterilizer built in, should i use a uv sterilizer? ive heard there good with algea but will also kill the BB. so what do you guys think?

They will slow down a cycling tank by killing unsettled free-floating BB, but they wont harm existing BB colonies. Besides, you can always yank the bulb if you don't need the UV.
