so i talked to a few more people about my brown algea issue i have, and someone mentioned to me about getting a UV sterilizer and hooking it up .... but i thought about that months ago all though was told by another aquarist that it only kills free floating algea like in ponds and etc,

now doesnt algea first start as free floating and then attachs itself to a substance like rocks/decorations/substrate/glass etc etc etc, and then feed of the nutrients in the tank to survive ? so if that is true wouldnt a UV sterilizer eliminate the free floating algea before it attachs itself to something to start to grow/feed and then spread threw out the tank ? like isnt a UV sterilizer the same ordeal as these algea scrubbers people are building ?

UV sterilizers will not help with brown algae. UV sterilizers are great for green water problems, though. High phosphates are sometimes associated with brown algae.

Near a patio door but I don't get direct sunlight at all on it... I also have 4 powerheads in powerhead mode maxijet 1200 to help with circulation and one fx5 has a 62" spray bar

Humm. Seems like everything should be good. I know my self Sometimes I get some growth from algae and I can never seem to figure out where it comes from. Simple fix for me is usually to take everything out clean it well let it stay out of tank for a couple days clean the filter and do water change and then throw it all back in.

I can do a massive WC on saturday or sun, and vaccum out entire sand bottom and clean my filter out when it needs it and then likely by wed I have brown on my white sand.... Sometime even sooner if my lights are on for 8hrs espexially I now have my lights backed off to 4hrs a day lately cuz it grows algea like a mother trucker, lights are hagen glo 48" duel bulbs, one 10,oook and one actinc blue 420 bulbs both were replaced month ago or so
