Hi all,

Apologies if this is a dummy question but couldn't find an answer to it in old threads....Is the output from a UVB 10.0 bulb dangerous to human skin eg..cancer...

i dont see it being dangerous. but at the same time how much are you personally going to be sitting under the UVB light? if it was dangerous i highly doubt companies would be able to sell the bulbs to the general population

I highly doubt a 10.0 has thet much uvb unless you were mayb actually basking in it really close. Even our best uvb bulbs can't match the sun.

only as dangerous as the sun is to our skin, if there is prolonged exposure, you can get a sun burn and if this happens over a long period of time, you could get skin cancer but it is nothing to worry about unless you plan on laying underneath it for hours each day.

tks, was concerned as I have setup my daughter desk next to it so she would be exposed in small doses. Wasn't keen turning her desk into a tanning bed....
