Excuse the bad quality, but I just dug up this photo taken at Sydney Aquarium a while back, it shows just how big Leichardti can get. The fish next to it is a large Barramundi, easily over 4' in size. The Leichardti was fully grown I guess, probably a shade over 3'. Also in the tank was an enormous Aussie Lungfish of a similar size, and a Pignose Turtle with a shell length of around 20''.

You got that right about the butt ugly part, definitely not attractive like Asian Aros when they mature.
