It is the holiday season and well I like many other individuals this time of the year are planning a weekend trip away from home to be with family. One of my major concerns is the welfare of my fish (considering I have invested a large amount of money and time into them....not to mention I kind of care about them). Now I have three tanks and their stock is as follows.
20 gal-One angel fish, two fancy groumies, 4 blood fin tetras, and one African knife fish, one common pleco
40 gal tall-3 jewel cichlids(pretty young only about 2 in long), one common pleco
75 gal angled front-1 green severum, one banded leporanis(kind of young only about 3.5in) 4 tinfoil barbs, 2 snake skin groumies, 1 Copadichromis borleyi, one common pleco, bala shark, 2 cory cats, and one pictus cat, and a few assorted tetras. (I know really overstocked, am getting a 150gal in April)
Now I will only be gone for about 4 days the fish will be going about 96 hours without food. Is this safe to leave them this long without food, should i try overfeeding them for the next week, should i invest in those cube weekend feeders the ones that dissolve in the tank. Not sure what to do, a fish sitter is out of the question and I cant afford to get one of those electric timer fish feeders, I would really like some input, thanks.
