My friend is going on vacation for a few weeks and has an auto feeder and stuff but wants to be able to check up on his fish tank via the web. He was thinking like a live web cam feed or something so he can see the fish by logging on. Here is what you have to work with: It needs to be free software, a windows 7 computer, USB web cam, wireless internet connection. it would be great if he could view it on his android phone but not necessary. The idea it to install software on the computer so he can log onto some thing or go somewhere and view it. Cannot setup a server, level: easy to medium. This would be a great thread for everyone.

Have you checked out Ustream? I am not sure if there is a time limit on broadcasts though.

If you are able to set up a stream there are alot of applications that would allow you to view it from your Driod... One is JumiCam, I have never used it but it is free

thanks, i will check out ustream for him and tell him how it works, thanks!! Any other programs??

Download teamviewer, which lets you control a computer through another computer, like a laptop. With that he can log into his computer at home through his laptop, then turn on the webcam. The drawback is that his computer at home have to be on at all time.
