Im going to florida for 9 days
What should I do for my stingray I have a month to get a plan. I have my dad feeding the tanks but wont be able to get a. Water change and have a stingray in the tank. I was thinking of just doing a 60-70% water change the day before I leave.

Overflow out with pipe (approx your surface level)

1 pipe in with a single value (so Mr.Dad could just on-w8-off)

Hello; I have never kept stingrays so if there are any specific differences please disregard this suggestion. Over a few decades I have learned that when a way for a few days it has been best to not have anyone else feed my fish. Lost some fish when a "friendly" person just fed too much. Pretty much all healthy fish can go 9 days without food for that long in my experience.
I can see a WC the last chance you get before leaving and a check to see all the equipment is running. The lack of feeding should help keep the water ok for a time.
Since you have a month there should be time to get the filter system in top shape. A proper cleaning can go a long way to keep the filter from becoming a "nitrate factory" and make the 9 days much safer.
You could possibly add some pothos plants to help with the water quality as well.

Good luck

The stingray needs to be fed everyday since hes a pup I totally am fine with my other fish being left alone but my dad knows to take out any food thts not eaten. I usually feed 1-2 tiliapia pieces a day. So I probably will have him be fed every other day to keep nitrates down.

Just to be sure, if you have any extra filters on deck. Add them to the tanks!
I do but dont have the parts for it yet need intake outtake and tubing also need a new o ring. Its an api canister rated for 265 gallons cant wait to get tht installed and add another peguin.

I'd do a 90% water change on the day I was leaving. If the ray's only a pup then it will have a pup sized bio load, not as much as an adult. Yes, get your dad to feed it, MAKE SURE YOU SHOW HIM EXACTLY HOW MUCH. Overfeeding issues are common when neighbours and friends are left in charge.

I'm pretty sure a huge water change on the day you're going plus measured out portions of food, fed sparingly, will mean that your nitrates should still be acceptably low when you get back 9 days later.

If you've got a month before you go you could do a dummy run. A dummy run will tell you for sure where your nitrate is before and after you go.

50 percent water change 3 days before you leave 50-70 wc day of...nitrate reactor would be a blessing. If your really stressing find a local that will come do a water change on day 4 or 5 if you don’t know one ask you LFS. Your dad could let him in to service.

For the vacation, mine was 10 days. This is what I do.

With 1 month left, test run daily/normal feeding for 9 days and no water change. Test how the water will be after 10 days. If it holds up, below will be what I will do during the vacation

1) increase feeding week prior to vacation as during vacation only alternate days will be fed

2) Prepare feedings for alternate days , once a day

3) inform family member that food prepared , just have to dump 1 bag of prepared food every 2 days

4) night before vacation, no feeding and 80% water change

5) morning of vacation do feeding

6) during vacation, inform family member every alternate day to feed

7) Enjoy my holiday
