So ive learned the hard way on letting someone feed my FW tanks while i was on vacation. How long can a SW tank go without feeding? All i have is a clown and a yellow tail damsel. I dont trust anyone on watching my marine tank.

Longest I let my tank go is a week, I would imagine if you had some algae growing it could go a while longer. How long is your vacation? What I would do is measure out a specific amount of food to be given like twice a week and tell the person to never do anything else, no water changes, no cleaning, not a thing other than feed the premeasured food.

definitely a 50% wc with a dose of prime before you do it and add prime to the new water and a good feeding should keep your tank well and dandy hope you ahve a great holiday

i too am thinking about doing one week vacation...

And i know that before i head out.. i will do a 50-60% water change in all my tanks..... Feed all my fish fat and big.. and probably purchase some food pyramid so they can munch on....

i'm scared cuz i know my arowana will be very hungry... so i might ask a friend to help me with feeding some of the fish...

vacation is the greatest thing for a person but the most fearful thing for a saltwater aquarist. My best advice if you have a really trustworthy family member to feed for you while your away do so if not. Hopefully your fish are eating pellet's and you can get an automatic feeder while your gone to do it for you otherwise don't know what to say.
