Vacation :(

So im going on vacation for 4 days to the mountains in tennesse and I will my fish be able to survive for 4 days without food? Its a community tank with small fishies, and I cant have someone come to feed them because 1st all of my friends and niebors are out of town and 2nd my house will be armed and I cant give people the code

just go to petsmart and get a feeding block or an automative feeder... four days isnt bad. my fish have gone a week without feeding

Feed them right before you leave, try and do a WC, they should be fine.

I agree I used to do a water change and then give my greens some cichlid sticks until they were full, and I would then put in some fast feeders (Rosy reds) and I have been gone up to 5days before and come back to hungry but still alive Sunfish.

just leave their lights off and don't worry. they will be fine for 4 days without food.

you are much better off leaving them unfed than going with a vacation feeder etc.

they can cause problems.

also, make sure to feed a NORMAL amount of food before you go.

sometimes people tend to overfeed right before vacation (to make up for the fact that they won't be fed), which can cause trouble because obviously you are not around to do a water change if the tank goes cloudy/has an ammonia spike because of it.

thankou 12 volt man! yeah i didnt think i should get a feeding block since they may do more harm than good lol and I dont trust any non fish keepers to feed them!
