I am going on vacation for 2 months. Right now I have a 29 gallon tank with 9 juvenile Blood Red Jewel Cichlids. I plan to remove the rest once a pair is formed. I plan on doing a 100% water change and get a automatic feeder. I cannot get anyone to help me with the tank over the summer. Is their anything you guys recommend I do or change? Thanks in advance

2 months a long time, unless on a drip system and even if you are you are going to need some one to check on it. if no drip system your water will be almost gone in 2 months from evaporation. and nasty as all getup.

Pops is absolutely right, if your room is warm where the aquarium is I would unplug the heater it will help with the evaporation. Do you have Glass lids on the aquarium?

Any chance you can leave them with your lfs for the duration.

2 months is quite long. I would program the feeder for every other day and if you can have someone check up on your tank 1 a week or so just to make sure your equipment is working properly.

The only lfs is petsmart and I don't want them anywhere near my cichlids. I will program the feeder to drop food once every 3 days or so just to reduce waste. I don't have a glass lid. Thanks for the help guys
