hey everyone, i am currently in the process of resealing my tank and i was wondering how you remove the old silicone after it has been cut off the tank. My vacuum will not pick up the little pieces because they are still fairly sticky.

thx

Get a vacuum that really sucks! Seriously though......a good quality shop vac with the right nozzle will pick them up. That's what I use when resealing/rebuilding tanks and I have no problems!

could you not get some duct tape or summin and use the sticky side to pick up the stuff?

you need more suck

I just tipped the tank over, and swept it out onto the floor, then into the dustpan. Go go 2$ broom!

I find someone that is standing near me and ask them to pick it out for me, then I go do something that is less time consuming.:naughty::ROFL:
