Hi everyone. I was at work with nothing to do and I thought of a question. If a fish banged against something or got into a fight with another fish and the fish has some scales missing or has some skin come off, water changes, salt and higher temperature are usually recommended. Most of us vacuum the gravel when doing a water change. Would vacuuming the gravel kick up bacteria that can affect the fish? I'm wondering, since the fish has open wounds, would just changing the water without vacuuming the gravel be safer because the fish is already stressed and his immune system is probably not as strong. Can the fish get some kind of infection from the kicked up bacteria that the vacuuming will do?
