lol i cant spell.:duh:

or even yemens chameleon. Another common name for them.

Depends what size you start with, babies need smaller housing... adults more around 3x2x2. People do have problems keeping groups, I'm not sure about pairs- I guess some people have success, others don't. A lot of people seem to think seperate is best for them though, for many reasons.

Need some UVB light of course (8-10%), branches, some kind of mister, supplements, some kind of drip system so they can drink. Require: High basking spot temperatures approx 92-98f cool end down to approx. 75f.

Here are some websites that might help although lots of info out there, they are generally considered starter chams and so lots of people have them and lots of caresheets and advice:

thanks for the info. the ones at nthe store are about 5-6'' and 60 bucks.

The thing with Chameleons is that they stress very easily if they see competition for space and food. If you do decide to keep a pair, give them a lot of room and plenty of natural barriers so they can escape from the sight of each other.

the main problems i had with mine were diet.He wouldnt keep weight on well.I was less expereinced then but just make certain on the calcium and and such. They do drink from leaves or moving water so make sure they are drinking and dont die of thirst with a big bowl of water an inch away from them, lol. He would be held but didnt like it,even after a few years. The larger they get,the stronger the grip and sharp claws are.I can take some good pain but dang they are strong.Learn as much as you can on diet and hydration,im rambling but just trying to remember some hands on for you.

thanks

Hydration is very important like Jason said. They will NOT drink from a bowl. You can set up a cheap drip system by putting some water in a plastic cup with a small whole in the bottom so it can drip slowly for your cham to drink. I was able to train my Senegal Chameleon to drink water dripping out of the end of a spray bottle too.
