I've been growing out this species of Vallisneria for a while now and had believed it to be spiralis. Can anyone confirm this for me. The first pic is sample I just pulled from my pond and dropped into a 85g holding tank, pardon the tangled Egeria, second pic is of the surface shot from pond.

I recently added another species and was looking for ID, it grows much smaller than first species.

Thanks MFK's

It's Jungle Val, jungle val is the only species of wide leaf val, is scientific name is Vallisneria gigantea.

It can reach up to 3 feet in length when given the tank space, and lighting; It's a known heavy root feeder so it's advised to put a couple root tabs under the substrate near them, this is one of my most favorite aquatic plants!!!

do they all have spiraling flowers?
I believe how the shoot to the flower grows depends on the conditions. From what I remember is most of the flowers I had did spiral around like a slightly stretched phone chord but I also remember some growing straight. I have one right now in my tank that's growing fairly straight

What do you think about last 2 pics, definitely a smaller species? I was thinking Italian. Can they hybridize?

actually it may not be Americana, gigantea may be correct. When I read that I has torta val in mind as that is the true giant val
