hey guys.......anybody ever raised one in a pond b4? cuz if so...i wanna ask my folks to get a few.....second Q: anybody out there managed to raise the vampire tetra over 10 inches at all?

well a payara in a pond is def new, try it. As for one over 10 in, YES. a member (or 2) has one over a foot, look around this forum.

Put a pump in there to add some current

You should give it a try.

dont try, just do it.... be sure to get d right species..

Sounds like a plan! I know of 6 Payara all over a foot from this forum! You are definetly going to need some pumps to get the water moving! I am thinking they transfer to the rabids at 10 to 12 inches and thats the main reason people loose them. They start out in the mellow areas hanging under trees and foilage while they are young and fragile!
Anybody know how big they are when its time to trasfer i think if you do it to soon that also can kill them. keep in touch Howie

I have a cool school of them living large in a 120 smaller ones! Only the best feeders for my boys danios, guppys, clouds!

In a pond with a horizontal pump you could arrange strucure so that there are areas of varying current as well as backwaters so they can find their own comfort zones.
