Has anyone had any luck with a Vampire pleco mixed with Africans? Are they able to survive in high PH levels (8.5)? If so he would be in with two Frontosas. And if not I will plan on starting a planted tank with Plecos only.:D Thanks for any feedback.

Galaxia needs super clean water high water flow very picky eaters luvs snails - it won't bother the cichlids but can't garuntee the same in return

i actually have no idea what vampires eat... they do look nice.. but are somewhat harder to keep

If your talking abour mbunas forget it. They will harrass that pleco to death. Some peacocks and smaller haps might work out though. I have a 4 inch rubber lip in with my haps venustus and boreyli that they completly ignore.

Ive found that ancistrus will live and breed with malawis.

Leporcanthius species like your vampire are hardy fish that can take agression to a certain degree. Although i would worry about agression and him getting nipped a bit. They feed best on meatier foods such as mussle, prawns cockle etc.... Foods which wont do your mbuna any good.

I personally wouldnt mix em :(
