when my 540 arrives that will be my new cichlid tank. my delema is ill have a empty 220. now what im prob gonna do is make a large semi aggressive tank (aro,knife,) things of the like. now in a few stores i have seen vampire tetra. i know they get big, and ive been reading a bit and know they are only semi aggressive(dispite huge teeth) but that they unknowingly die at about 12" anyone know about these fish or have any first hand experience? id like to get one but im not good at losing fish. i would hate to have a fish for a year then have it die out of no where. any info would help.

when they get larger their main food source is piranas, so in theory this is why they die. Good luck getting any large ones around here. we get some 2-4inchers once in a blue moon
i dont need a big one. 2-4" is fine. i plan on starting with baby aro and knife anyway. btw messiner i gave vicky a stock list. look it over. i would like to supply you guys with fish. i know im cheaper and have a lot of rarer fish. hatians, festea, umbre, dovii, loiseilli, red jags, grommodes, trimac... you name it i got it. all of them 2-4 bucks a piece. along with a whole crap load of africans. put a good word in for me. you know those fish better then she does so someone has to tell her thier worth other then me. also my little rtc i got eating again. had to buy some black worms. you guys spoiled his ass.

OK, so heres the deal, talked to Vicki and she wasnt thrilled. she said first you said your buddy had the fish farm and now your saying you own it. which is it???? she said she looked over your stock list and says she can get the same fish at the same prices. I told her you really had some real ba stuff, and we should try it. if you want to impress her get really organized, list common and scientific names down and prices too. includeing pics would be good too. tell her who owns the livestock up front. hope is not lost bro
it is my buddys farm , i am selling for him. she misunderstood. and i know she cant get those fish, if she could why wouldnt she? i gave her a list of everything i have and said we could get other things that are not on the list if she was looking for something in peticular. its not even about knowing or not knowing what i have, i gave her a list of everything that i have. theres nothing to know. ill make a new list and let you know when its done with more commen names, the thing is she is a new owner and has no idea what shes doing. i shouldnt have to list all the commen names as a pet store owner she should that a jaguar is a mataguense. its one of the most commen cichlids. not have me tell her so she could find the price in her store. the other day she asked me to point out what it was when it was in her tank! then i had to explane the difference between a psudo and a peacock. anyway, ill try to dumb it down a little. its gonna be hard to find pics for everything though, some of these cichlids are rare to the point i cant find pictures of them. ill work on it and get back to you as soon as i can. thanks for the help.
she might not be the best with fish, these are new to her. she knows everything else in the store backwards and fowards though. we are currently remodeling so get ready for some SW
