The Vampyre Shrimp, Atya gabonensis, isn't a bloodsucking aquatic relative of the vampyre bat. Rather, it is a peaceful, filterfeeding shrimp that will go with with your small to medium sized fish community tank. They are called vampyre simply because of the pointed tips on their walking legs, which are colored red.
