Just went yesterday to see what they had changed and was pleasantly surprised by a hepsetus odoe with a large puffer, then a few small pike cichlids one supposedly noto but didnt look right to me. but the best of all there was a tank with rotkiel sevs, what looked like a pair of lent pikes and a shoal of redtail armatus, unsure what type. then their big tank was nice the gigas havent grown much in a year but there was a rtc that must be over 40 inches and some huge pacus over 24inches. they also have a huge fire eel with some great girth on it and a niger cat over 2ft.

its not the best aquarium in the world and can be seen in an hour but well worth a trip may get you photos next time. the best tank is a shoal of elephant noses and related species the tank has perspex tube which emitt the sounds created by their electric fields

Im a member and its just down the road so when i empty my memory card a photo visit will be on the cards.

I need to go there again. The last time I been there, 10 years ago, they were talking about shutting down the Aquarium.

they are jusqt going through an expansion plan at the momenbt hoping they will expand the tropical zone. have applied for a job there so wish me luck.

My aqaurium near me is called UnderWater World. Dont have a large freshwater section at all, but they sure make up for it in the fish they have, In 1 'tank' they have at 15 36"+ pacu, 12 40"+ Iridescent Sharks, 1 48" Red-Tail Catfish, 120 (Really) 12" Midas/Red-Devil, 10,000 2-3" fish that hang on the outskirts of the tank, dont even get eaten.

They also got a above ground pond with clear sides for short people with heaps of turtles and giant gourami's in all 3 strains of colours.

yea i jsut went there the other day too, great aquarium. I do have a crappy picof the elephant nose tank, you can kidna see the set up idea.

that green thing on top of the tube, id that lights up when thy go in or neat it. pretty kool, i woudlnt have thought the electrical feild they produce would be able to do that.
