Hey, as i don't yet have any pics of my cichlids or their tanks i figured i would start with my reptiles.

I bought a little male varanus Gilleni (WA origin) a little over a year ago, built him a tank and has since grown quite a lot though slowly. I named him Kuroda.

Here are just a few pics, keep in mind they are quite old and he is quite a bit bigger now. If i can get round to it ill take some new pics and post them in the next few days.

Cheers-

Darren

Ok, figured i would go in to detail about Kuroda and his tank a little.

The tank is....huge lol, can't remember the dimensions though it took 2 people to lift it when empty and 3 people to lift when full (sand, rocks, branches) it has a wood and perspex door on the right, two air vents with fans on the outside to blow cool air in to the tank in the summer as it get HOT here in QLD in the summer which for us is actually around Christmas time lol.
Solid glass front.

Day time temps in the tank are between 38-45c, night time temps are between 22 and 25 c.

Kuroda currently gets fed 6 small crickets a day, i dust the crickets with calcium and multi vitamins twice a week and although you may never see reptiles drink from a dish i always make sure there is fresh water in there even if tis only the crickets that drink it lol.

later-

Darren.

Thanks for the comments, kuroda really enjoys his enclosure, makes full use of the space and climable objects, it took a good few weekends to build and was definately worth it.New pics coming soon.cheers-Darren
