I feed my bichirs a varied diet ( red worms, night crawlers, smelt, tilapia, crawfish, shrimp, catfish, beef and chicken heart, crickets, mealworms, rosy reds and mollies, frogs, but I've never gave them an oily fish like salmon or mackerel. I was wondering could I feed it to my bichirs not as a common food but maybe once every two or three weeks. Oily fish contain large amount of protein and omega 3. (Possibly make them grow more?)

You seem to be feeding a pretty well rounded meaty diet. The only red flag stuff are the live foods like the rosy reds, mollies and frogs. I would be concerned about the possible transmission of parasites and what not. Also the mammalian meets like hearts should be fed sparingly, a bit hard to digest.

Lastly are you feeding any pellet foods or using boyds vitamins on the raw foods? this would help with any missing nutrients.

Yeah I used the carnivore pellet they don't really like it but I starved them and they ate it

You can feed oily fish but it'll leech out into your water until eaten. Which is not ideal. I also use a variety of pellets massivore, nls mega fish, kensfish earthworm/krill/catfish pellets, algae wafers, I think there's more

Beef & Chicken heart are no-nos for bichirs in the long wrong..... shortened lifespan...... feeders are ok if you quarantine & feed quality food...... no need for the oily fish unless you want them obese.... they get enough protein through live, massivore, tilapia, smelt, earthworms.... etc. If you are concerned with vitamin intake, you can add vitamin supplements to food as someone here already suggested. Best of luck!!
