Some of you may remember these fish, I will keep the details out and just say that they were brought in as Sp. Greens or Panama Green around 6 or 7 years ago but turned out to be hybrids. Don't you love when people lie to sell fish! Aside from them being hybrids they are quite beautiful and were very aggresive, the male once jumped clear out of the water and bit my hand when I was holding it over the water. They had also bred and produced a large amount of fry, I used them for feeders though.
Male was 12" and female was 8".
Look closely and you can see the fry!
This was the nicest growout, had nice spangling around his eye and had beautiful colouring. Once I found out they were hybrids and I had been misinformed he became a light snack for the large Pygos.
These were F1 Motas, very nice fish but not aggresive at all. They were breeding like Convicts!
Some of my F1 Dovii growouts. I sold some off but they bred so much and there were so many I ended up using alot as feeders.
Here is my wild Umbee when I first got it home and over a few weeks of good food and good water you can really see the colour coming out. 5" at the moment and growing fast!
When I first got it.
