Got the 150 up and running, far from done with it though.
When i got the tank, i filled it and noticed a slight bow. This is an old school tank that had no center brace and that tacky looking faux wood trim, also some kind of super resilient enamel blue paint on the back panel. It probably wouldve been fine to set up but i decided to strip all the old silicone and trim off the top, slapped in an 18" glass table top as a brace, trimmed the trim to fit, reattached and painted everything black. I also spent two annoying hours scraping paint off.
Original plan was to make a live edge stand with cedar stumps and a cherry slab. But I ran into some trouble levelling the stumps, so i shelved the project and just resolved to rebuild my double 75 stand to accomodate the cherry slab and 150 on top.

i just sanded the cherry slab and applied a single coat of poly for this application. No reason to get all fancy with stains if a tanks gonna be covering it.
I was happy to keep my 75 in the mix with this setup. Doesn't look exactly like i want it but im gonna play with it, maybe repaint and distress for a weathered look.
Had to shim a bit to get level. I truthfully dont know where the play was coming from, maybe just warp in the slab. Whatever, sitting pretty now.
Scooped up a bunch of river rocks last time i was up at the shenandoah. This is my preliminary scaping.
Currently got a seasoned ac110 running but also cycling that 8' sponge filter on the right of the tank. Plan to hook that into a 3' overhead planter sump that will eventually be the sole filtration.
Putting my Flowerhorn and Red Devil in tomorrow and see how they do. They are too big to cohab in the 75 now, hoping they can do ok in the 150, but ive already trimmed a divider to fit.
Still a lot of work to do. backgrounds, filtration, lighting to rig up. Thanks for following people.
