Started this in July 2020. Dirt topped off with sand and a lamp. Plants ludwigia, rotala, micro sword, salvini, Italian val, and micro anubias. Animals are water flees, copepods, detritus worms, and more. Plant grow it very well with the val and micro sword sending runners and the ludwigia growing a lot out of the water(over a foot in height). Very self sustained besides for adding water every few weeks, any floating plant that dies becomes detritus which the plants feed off of. Ludwigia pretty much taken over the tank with its long roots reaching into the substrate. The tank is too small for fish and invertebrates like shrimp, so the center pieces are 1mm copepods lol.
