Almost looks like something that occurs in trout called "whirling disease," that affects spinal growth.
As a spoetfisherman, I am obligated to remove it from the system.
As a hobbyist, I feel obligated to cheer the fish on....
In short, good luck playing god; don't f it up!

Thank you all. He is a very happy, healthy fish otherwise. I am growing four of the VATF out right now, planned on going down to one eventually. I was just surprised it is as bad as it is. Had all four since they were four inches. Bought from two separate places. Love my 375 gallon but wish I had gone bigger lol!
