VATF finally ate Live

My 16"+ VATF finally took some live foods, except it wasnt exactly a feeder Lol.

I was suprised to wake up to a ton of scales and 1 of 5 Pink Tail Chalceus.

The little booger was 5" and fairly meaty. I think I am more shocked as he has NEVER showed interest in live except when he didnt like a tankmate, he would Severely wound them. These guys are super fast and when ever he swims in their direction, they move for him to pass bye. Ive had the combo for a few months now (maybe 5?) and I have some other little fish in the tank that I know he would have no trouble eating.

HHmmmm.... kind of making me think twice about the direction im actually going with him (Combo wise)

I think maybe he surprised it at night when it was sleeping.
Maybe try 100 neon tetras. THAT would be amazing

Dunno how but wish I did Lol. Ive added fish little by little with and he usually told me with in a day or 2 if they can stay

12-14" Silver Aro lasted 2 days, 18" black lasted over night, recently a 10" Jar lasted about 4 hours and a while back a Mono Sabae nipped his tail and the following day the Ninja Sabae was missing his face (this is his history with me since I got him a while back). Other than that I add fish on weekends so I can monitor... never ever showed any signs of aggression to the Pink's.

Feedings have been the same... Massivore, Cichlid gold, Tilapia, Shrimp and scallops durring different feedings. The last week he has been chomping on everything pretty good...

Once a killer always a killer.

Although I have had a 3" blue gourami with my 7" VATF for over 6 months now and no aggression at all. I was hoping he would kill it because I don't like the gourami.
