Vatf tank mates

I realize when he gets bigger he needs the whole tank to himself but im nit about to put a small vatf in a 8 foot 220 by himself .... way too empty .... for those of you that have had success ....what have u kept?.... for how long?... what size was the vatf and what size where the tankmates?

Hes already pellet trained .... ate 4-5 floating hikari sticks today

My was kept with 20+ other fish. They go fine with anything that doesn't pick on them and is too large to look like food
