Okay I will be gone for about 2days but I was wondering if its okay if I leave my lights on for 2days stright reason being is that I dont have a timer.

not unless you want your corals to melt and your fish to get really stressed out and possibly croak.

I'd just go buy a cheap timer at walmart or something. If you can't do that, I'd just leave the lights off instead. The corals can deal with no light for 2 days without any major issues and the extra light could be too much for them or could cause algae to grow.

It's kind of like a cloudy and rainy 2 days on a reef. It doesn't harm anything. You might want to leave a blind or curtain open though so there's at least a little bit of a day/night cycle.

If you are seriously keeping corals you are overdue a timer. Drop $15 for some peace of mind man.

not to mention potential fire hazard....

Yeah, I think I picked up one of my timers for like 6 bucks at wally world. I also agree with no lights for 2 days being better than being on.

Has anyone tried the dusk to dawn timer??
Im not sure what you mean. But a standard on/off timer rated for 15 amps is all you can use on a MH.
