veggie dog food?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The veg dog food is cool. Largely because some dogs do better without certain ingrediants in their diet that might give them skin problems, etc. As far as IAM's I think alot of people regard their food as crap anyways. Cruel to hear what happened but I will say PETA puts a large spin on some things to try and gain supporters.

And PETA themselves are guilty of taking pets from state/county rescues and euthenizing them. Saw this on CNN about a year ago. I think it was for some reason they thought they were better off deceased. :screwy:

that's good for dogs with special needs, but IMO it's just silly for normal dogs. dogs are carnivores. they eat meat. it's just another annoying product aimed at humanizing dogs :shakehead

BTW I am a vegitarian.

Actually it has has been established that dogs thrive on veg*n diets. One of the oldest dogs in the world is a vegetarian.

This is not intended to humanize dogs. It is intended to reduce unneccesary suffering of animals. Yes it's not natural but then nether is keeping a dog in a person's house, giving them vet care or many other things which are done to dogs in captivity.
Dogs are more on the omnivore side of things so this may be why it works out nicely.

PETA does euthanize, they also do some rescue work as well. Yes PETA specializes in shock tactics. Some of which I am not fond of. If you wish to become informed about PETA, hopefully you will read both positive and negative viewpoints.

Overall I'm guessing PETA is not going to be popular on a site like this just because they are against fishkeeping.

PS: I'm veg too and former PETA member.

all i'm saying is that I want my dog (If I ever get one) to eat a natural diet. I would feed organic food that is made with animals that are not mistreated or injected with hormones or the like. I have no problems with raising animals for food as long as they are treated with care, like they are living things and not meat. there are many farms that do this. the only ones that are really bad are the major meat companies like tyson and armour.

I consider it humanizing because it is trying to make a dog do something people do. If an animal is a predator, by god I let it do what it was meant to do. I try to feed all my animals a diet as close to a natural diet as possible.

I commend PETA and have no problem with them, although I find them too emotional.
