Hi,

I want to start adding alot more veggies to my GTs diet. I only give him a piece of Algae wafer once in awhile. I was gonna buy some seaweed sheets but I dont know if the GT will eat it. Any suggestions what I could feed him?

I feed the Algae wafers from Hikari, I see that's what you do too. Hikari Excel has veggie stuff in it, that would be a good start plus it's a pellet. Buy some of the frozen cubes. I have some that has spirulina and all kinds of stuff, he will eat that. Try lettuce, zucchini, cucumber.

Cool, I am gonna try some other stuff. I got Omega One Algae Wafers. I was thinking Hikari Excel also, but dont know if that really is a good source of veggies. I want to feed something that has low protein like in the 30s, very small or no fat, with fiber and other vitamins etc.

Mine like frozen peas. Never had luck with carrots. Though about corn but someone said that it has no nutritional value.

algae wafers are good. try looking at some specialist discus food, avoiding the beefheart ones as this is against what your after. some are full of veggies as well as all protein/fibre etc a growing fish needs. i found a site which im gonna use to get some veggie based food for my uaru, so im sure you will have as much of a great choice or bigger there in the states.

Cool, yeah cause hes only eating a carnivorous diet. I wanna add some veggies. Im gonna try peas and green beans. I'll check out the Discus foods too. With the algae wafers hes not a big eater on that, he eats some small pieces. I almost bought the seaweed sheets, nutritionally they were good. But I didnt wanna buy it and risk wasting my money if he wouldnt eat it.
