I dont know why but I gave my jar a peice of grated carrot,
It ate it with great enthusiasm, it'd already bin fed tonight,
so i didnt think it would be hungry, though in all the years I've fished for saratoga being hungry has had nothing to do with feeding, if the chance to eat was there they would eat. The carrot was ment for one of the feather fin catfish.
so realy the question is: can feeding my jar grated carrot hurt it, or can it just be another variant in its diet?

cheers

never owned an aro but i'm sure it couldn't hurt if anything it'll help its eyes

if you keep feeding it carrots (along with a staple food, like pellets) its coloring is gonna be amazing.

My silver aro has eaten cantaloupe from time to time. I hide bits of carrots inside his smelt sometimes also.

I'm going to try that tonite. Carrots should be OK imo. My jar eats rice noodles, the big/thick type, cooked of course :) He does not get near pellets though, consistently. And I'm NOT going to starve it to try to force it to eat what I want...

humm carrot is good. it has those stuff that helps your arowannas eyes and colors. for my arrow it is still young and picky but i will for sure try carrot later on too. it might take longer for the arrow to digest it tho. or it might hurt it because of that. it might be hard for the arowwana to digest it that is all.

I would soak it in hot water first to soften it a bit...I'm stating the obvious thing right?
