Been a while since I shot him. I got a new camera and was shooting the festae that he lives with, so, I had to point it at him! Here is one of the few that I took. . . they are way prettier than they get cred for :naughty:

Nice...

You got a D90 as well.....

Awesome pic. I wish I could have kept my ven. I purchased it labeled as a wallaces pike thinking it was the dwarf species. I found out it wasn't and could get to 16", and had to re-home it. It had excellent personally at just 4".

nice color on that ven ! how big/old is he ? and do their eyes change color when they get bigger ? my lil guy has dark eyes ...

Thanks, Vens are more like a dog than a fish, this one is 13", between two and three years old.

Mine are pretty cool. Very chill now, although they can be a little bullish with other fish.

Mine is about 12-13", but only about 1.5 years old (I think. Maybe closer to 2).

I do like ven's though. My lfs has two that are about the same size as my big one, and I'm very tempted to bring them home. Not sure if it would work out well with 4x ven's between 8" and 14" in one tank...:D

I also love how their dorsal fins are colored, with every other dorsal showing black, and the others showing a blueish white color...
