Just curious... With Priority Mail being as cheap as it gets, What are the Pros of using FedEx or Ap to Ap (Airport to Airport) since there is a hefty price difference?

It would def get more sales, IMO but I don't know the facts :)

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure FedEx pays up to 100$ for broken items/dead ones. And those services are faster than flat rate.

When I ordered mosquito fish they were in a box for 4 1/2 days :( Good thing they are hardy and all of them lived :) (I used flat rate from USPS)

I can see the Insurance part. I've ordered from Florida to my door USPS next day for 35.00 so delivery time is the same as FedEx.

Ive done both . Personally I would pay for the fed ex or ap to AP. Last time I did usps priority I bought a pair of convicts and when the package got to my house soaked wrapped in a bag. I dashed to open the box and lucky the fish were alive with very little water in bag. The males bag had barely just enough to cover his gills. After that I would only pay for one day express or 2 day am priority. Its worth the few extra bucks IMO.

Fish could be in a bag for a long time with priority mail. I recently shipped two boxes of aquatic plants by priority mail. Both boxes were shipped on Tuesday. One box going from NJ to New Mexico arrived on Thursday. The other box going from NJ to Florida arrived the next Monday. Good thing there were no fish in that bag. Temperature fluctuations with priority mail could also be a problem. I don't think they make heat packs or cold packs that last more than 72 hours.
