I don't see any black on the dorsal which would indacate a female however that's what makes flowerhorns tough. Even if it is a female the black spot may not be present. I see no sign of the pointed genital papilla typically assoated with males but again that in itself dosen't necessarly mean anything. I'm under the impression this is a young fish making a positive ID diffacult. The vent is large and that is what I based my inital determination on, the shape is somewhat pointed which is typical of a male while the female is usually more rounded. How old is this fish?
I'm suprized you haven't gotten any more opinions on this, the thread got plenty of looks. The issue is with hybrids like yours is you just can't be sure what trates it inhereted from what fish. With an unknown lineage it's diffacult to know exactly what the vent on this fish is supposed to look like, I can see Paraneetroplus sp. in it but beyond that perhaps Herichthys carpintis maybe. From the pictures I would still say it's a female. The head is sloped and not at all squared like I would expect to see in a male of that size and age. It is a somewhat educated guess at best.
