venting/breeding channel cats

I just read about a kid breeding channel cats in a 40g in my Sept Tropical Fish Hobbiest Mag. Now im not going to try it in a 40g but i got a 150g and a 300g pond. I have a 12" albino Channel Cat and may be getting anoth er albino and a pigmented cat of the same size. I've read up alittle on venting but never done. What should i look for on my cats to determine sex?
Also, what can i do to encourage breeding?
Any experiences breeding Channel cats other than commercial fish farms?

On channel catfish look at the genital opening just in front of the anal fin. In males it pretty much looks like a normal anus or belly buttonish. In females it will be elongated or more like a line than a dot. When mature it will be pinkish or redish in females.
