I'm thinking male but a shot of the fish in the tank may help to decide.

sorry can you get a better shot. side on maybe? or with out flash?

i dont want to take s shot from the side because its a carpintis and females are suppose to have a little black on the dorsal fin but this fish has a little black on the dorsal fin that comes and goes. not always noticible but sometimes is and ive read thats not a full proof way to sex a carpintis so i took the pics and i didnt use flash. i got a 140.00 7.0 megapixel camera and thats about the best its going to do. thx for the input and anymore would be welcome. thx again

ok heres some tank shots but try not to judge by dorsal fin as i said it comes and goes.

It seems like it is almost big enough to sex...Vent looks male, sort of but the shots do not show the size comparison between the #1 and the #2 holes. The pointed look of the vent looks to be male to me. The overall shape of the fish looks female and I can not even see the black on the dorsal in the pics.

thats because there is not 1 and 2 holes. im not kidding ya. i look at it very close and what you see in the pics is what im seeing with my naked eye and im not blind so maybe this fish is a hermaphrodite. lol
