Thank you Water for your reply. Anyone else out there want to make an educated evaluation of the gender of this fish. I too am thinking female.
i want to say female as well because it looks oval/circular shaped but its kind of hard to tell by the pics
A lot of "views' on this posting but not a lot of feed back. What are your thoughts Male or Female???
besides looking at a fishes anus I have no ideal. was that the star ship Enterprise that just went by? Thought Klingon's hated fish. sorry being an ass
I am not a big fan of venting. folks try to do it with Oscars all the time and always ends up being a guess. in the mean time poor fishes arse stuck in the air.

Pops that was not much help. Venting is the only sure way to tell males from females, especially with FH. Time for others to take a serious look and post feed back.

So Animal Guy, from these pictures of the fish's genitalia you are seeing a male? Listen you could be right BUT….. I was under the impression that if the anus was smaller then the genitalia then it was a female. This fish's genitalia looks NOTHING like any male I have seen. Its large and very round, not small and pointed.
