Venting Young Oscar

First of all, I don't have an oscar. I also likely won't have one for some time. However, I'm wondering if it is possible to vent a young oscar? If so, how old/big would they have to be to do it. Would a 2-3 inch oscar be ventable?

If I recall correctly it's extremely difficult to externally sex oscars, I may be wrong. Many people say that you can only tell when they're breeding, let's see what the more experienced people have to say

Ah okay. Thank you. I guess it won't really matter in the end of the day. I've heard males get a bit bigger which is why I was looking for one. I'll take what I get though.
