Venus flytraps face loss of habitat

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Lame...they exist in such a small area and the protection still can't be offered. The whole developmental encroachment is very annoying.

What have they ever done wrong to us? LEAVE THEM ALONE!

The natural range of the fly trap has historically been very limited. Their numbers are high and they are not going anywhere. Plus, they are easily propagated. This article is only touching on the vulnerability of a few isolated populations.

i wonder if they would grow near my barn and catch flies in the summer..i will have to check on it..:)

Unless you live in a boggy swamp, I doubt it.
oh very boggy wet area...right across the street..

If its legal give it a shot though Im sure that far north the rhizome would freeze and die during the winter. You can get them for cheap, heck my walmart sells them!

There are all kinds of varieties as well, some with great color! Check this out...
