I recently bought a 9'' male venustus and lfs stated it was a breeding pair, got them home and realized that the female 7'' was actually a livingstoni !! I got the pair because the male is HUGE and beautiful ($50 for the pair and supposedly a male 5'' offspring). What should I do, let them breed or seperate them ???

Don't let them breed and create a bunch of hybrids. Just enjoy the fish. Maybe search around for some female venustus?

View attachment 449877First could you post pics so we can positively ID and yes if one is venustus and one livingstoni pair ..then they should be separated... they would be hybrids which would make them undesirable.. here is my male venustus and female venustus... just so you can tell the difference in the male/female venustus if your not sure..

Yes please check back in a little later and I will post some pics,and my female is definately not a venustus, thanks red devil.But I am curious what the offspring is, will send pics of him too thanks again.
