my friend has a cr. venezuela thats like 9-11 inches and im thinking of a rescue adoption lol ill be housing it in a 180 with a spotted gar, pbass and a bichir. i know these guys need caves and that will be provided. the only thing im worried about is the possible aggresion from the pike, but they arent too agro are they?

Compatibility is one thing that can never be guaranteed with Crenicichla, or most cichlids for that matter even. You just never know what to expect, as each fish can have its own personality and temperament even with in the species.

Generally though sp. 'venezuela' are more 'laid back' in comparison to the more aggressive pikes. They can and will stand up for themselves though, or if they have a territory will defend it. Really with a pike that large there is no telling what will happen.

I hope the bichir is large though, as a ven that large is quite capable of eating a lot of things. If you have it with some pbass though it should be fine. Main problem will probably be the aggression between the pbass and the pike.

thanks peanut. yea my friend kept trying to say it wouldnt work but its a rescue sorta and i guess its worth a try
