Haven't been posting much lately, so I decided to shoot a quick video of my male Notatus while I was admiring his lovely temper today. They have been spawning back to back the past couple of months, and failing miserably. The male keeps eating the eggs on the second day, and then harrasses the female the next few weeks until they spawn again. I think I'll call them Ike and Tina, or maybe Bobby and Whitney? Anyways I decided to divide them, and see if I would be more successful. So far so good, although alot of eggs were unfertilized, and removed by the female, they are still there through day 2. And my male usually gets pretty tempermental in these times, but I'm scared to even put my hand in the tank now. He's furious he can't get to the other side, and has declared war on the egg crate barrier....and my finger.

it's funny how temperments can vary so much from fish to fish within the same genus or even species.
