I've had a male mm which is about 8-10" disc for over a year; I just introduced a new male mm which is about 6" or so; My 10" just full on attacked the new comer! He is chasing him around the tank and grabbed the newcomer's tail and is holding on! I thought they might just start "topping" each other but this is either a show of dominance or an outright attack! I'll post pictures tomorrow if the newcomer survives; I always go lights off for 24 hrs with new arrivals (except for the lunar lights);

WOW.... Thats crazy, sounds like dominance, but I have a male MM that is 7-8in in with my 4-5in mm male and they are fine and dandy. kinda wierd. Might have to pull the lil male until he gets alil bigger
hello i have had that problem in the past.. seems like the larger male liked to chew on all my rays. he was very evil. he also wouldnt let anyother males breed with the females. maybe try adding another female see if he calm's down a bit
Yea, its been exciting over the last two hours and I almost pulled the new ray out and moved her into my sump; But they seem to be getting along now so we'll see what happens; I think my existing ray was so excited to see another ray that he just assumed it was a female and went hubba bubba on him! Just my luck .... Now they are acting more normal so maybe it was a dominance dance? We'll see how everyone looks in the morning;

Thanks guys; the attacks have ended as of this am; newcomer's disc is beat up but he is swimming around; won't eat, but its his first day in the tank so I am not worried; I am going to post a video in the media lounge as soon as it gets done uploading to youtube; I told the wife that our existing ray is suffering from the proverbial blue balls
