very friendly behavior from the gar

i was cleaning out my sand today. and out of nowhere the gar started rubbing against my arms. i thought it was the bite me so i poked it away but it came back circling my arm again and keep rubbing against it. did any one had this kind of experience with the gar?
 
yes,same experience here.
im not sure if its a sign of affection though...
ive also experienced the same with various cichlids,characins,channa, and archer fish.
 
ive had my flowerhorn come up and lets me pet him on the head but gar is something new.
 
happens from time to time...not a sign of affection, however as these fish don't possess those traits. more a curiosity really--

My Spotted would do that but my Florida would flip if the gravel vic came anywhere near him
 
It's probably sizing you up to see if it can eat your arm, LOL.

:ROFL: anyway weird my arowana comes and slides over my arm when i was wiping the inside glass,i was like OMG! it scared me lol
