Ok, so I need your help.

I am going to Mauritius for three weeks on the 7th June and then when I come back Im due to go to Rome for ten days , will be back on the 10th July and then on the 15th July Im due to go to India for another ten days.

I have a 400L which houses a gold nugget, six small angelfish and two guppies with a baby bronze cory. Then I have another 150L tank which has a baby pictus, and a baby common plec.

I have a 200 gallon with one bala shark.

How on earth do I ensure these fish will survive when I'm about to go on holiday? I have a Rena digital fish feeder, but thats about it. I could move all the fish to the 200 gallon - but I will still be away for more than a month. But the good part is that I have maybe three days in between each country when I'll be at home packing, so during this time I can do water changes etc. But when I'll be away there will be no one here in the period of June (when I'm in Mauritius) except my mum and sister and they know absolutely nothing about fish. But after I get back and go to rome and India there will be no one at home. We don't speak to out nieghbours and family live about 2 hours away so they won't be able to come round. This needs a really good solution, I don't want to lose any fish, but do I have a choice.

Sorry I didnt understand that. Do you mean a conditioner in water? It might keep the water good, but it still will not remove ammonia. I just need to get a solution to the days im going to be away, and how much to feed. I should probably feed a reallllly small amount each day or once every two days until I am back which is when I will do my first water change, but that will be after three weeks!

hellllllllllloooooooooooo any of you peeps know what to do? im stumped. help pleaseeeeeee before some very cute angels die when i go away.

work out roughly how much you'd feed your fish and then put less than that amount into little pots/bags.

Get your folks to put just one lot in when they come round. If they are there every day just get them to put some in every 3 days. The fish won't starve from this.

Your tanks are very lightly stocked and I think you'll be fine leaving a W/C for 3 weeks.

I agree...this is exactly what I would do as well. I wouldn't reccommend the feeding blocks because those things can cause more problems than good. I usually feed the day I leave and then have a friend/family member just feed the specific amounts every few days. The lighter feeding schedule will ensure that the fish can go a little longer without a water change.

Went on vacation for a month. Trained my neighbor how to feed and clean my tanks. Paid him $100 to take care of it. bagged up individual food for each day and wrote which tank to feed what bag on the bag. He did a great job. didn't lose a single fish, although he did really small water changes lol. I didn't want to overwhelm him, and in the end he gave back the $100, and told me it was too much fun to feed my fish for him to want to pay me. He is the only person besides me that can pet my big hybrid, rtc, and two tsns.

Big change before you go, with light feeding a week up until you go. When you get someone to look in/feed then show them exactly what you mean and then write it down for them, the worst think that can happen is if you the person/s who come around over feed, explain to them that the fish may look hungry and look like they need more food but instruct them to resist and you should be fine. They will only need a little bit of food every now and again to keep them going until you get back.

Enjoy the trip
