Not 100% sure how much of this is training and how much is playing on the lizard's natural behavior....but I betcha this guy didn't try to drown his monitor in the process!

That was awsome :D, I liked the parts when the monitor climbed and was like saying, what the frick happend to the rest of the latter, and when she jumped on him.

The croc monitor can reach 12', but remember the tail makes up more than half of that length.

How big is the room? Like in that video you need a tub for it, place to bask, lots of objects to climb on, and I'm probly missing more just can't think of anything else at the momment.

Woops sorry buddy I was thinking of another speices, the croc monitor can really get 15', few have reached 18'. Again sorry.

It's no hunting dog... lol.

I know Varanid's are pretty intelligent but I wasn't that impressed with it. Then again I'm not bothered with the training of animals, although I can see why it interests people.

Okay...I'm gonna argue here just a tad for arguments sake...:D:D:D

I've been poking around the web a little today for info on croc monitors (theres been so much talk of them lately)....and I have not seen anywhere that listed an authenticated record of a 15 ft croc mon. Its all just reports and rumors. In fact, in a few places, the largest ever recorded one was barely 10 ft. So needless to say, an 18 footer is nigh mythlogical.

Now I'm not saying its absolutely impossible for these varanids to get that large. But how Im seeing it, this is just like the proposed 30 ft anacondas that have never seem to have been captured. So I guess my point is, unless there's some bonafide evidence that indicates otherwise, I don't think anyone should be spouting off that this species will absolutely always reach a length of 15 ft.
